The above diagram is a cross-sectional representation of PROTECHzU on a protected surface. proTECHzU creates a dual-barrier protection layer on a surface, that is able to neutralize a host of germs, including viruses and bacteria.

proTECHzU is applied as a liquid to any surface. Once dry, proTECHzU forms a solid surface, consisting of the nanoceramic matrix along with the embedded antimicrobials. An antimicrobial layer forms on the surface of the matrix of proTECHzU. This layer remains exposed to the environment, guarding against germs, ready to eliminate any germs that come into contact with the surface.

Microbes, such as viruses, are continuously present in the environment. As long as viruses do not settle on the surface, the surface remains uncontaminated. But eventually, surfaces become contaminated. Whether from settling from the environment or from someone touching or sneezing, viruses come into contact with a surface and stick to it. When someone touches the contaminated surface, their hands become contaminated, and they then contaminate themselves and others.

proTECHzU protects against contamination. As viruses settle on a surface protected by proTECHzU, they come into contact with the antimicrobials. The antimicrobial pierces the viruses, neutralizing them and killing them. The viruses never get a chance to stick to the surface. With no viable viruses on the surface, the proTECHzU protected surface remains uncontaminated. When someone touches the surface, their hands do not become contaminated, and they do not contaminate themselves and others.
